The Forum - Mountmellick is a charming family run boutique self-catering venue, recently converted from a Victorian 19th Century
Presbyterian Church/Manse & independant Coach house on the same site.
 
We offer a range of accommodation, it is suitable for the single traveller, couples, families or visiting groups. The venue can be hired for exclusive use at competitive rates.
 
Conveniently located in the centre of the small historic town of Mountmellick, in the rural heart of the unspoiled Midlands, it is a suitable base for exploring the local area, touring further afield or visiting nearby Dublin City. We strive to make your stay in the Forum a memorable one.
 
We are currently in the process of adding a Georgian Town House property to our accommodation offering. News on this exciting development will be added to the website when key milestones are reached.

The Coach House

Private accommodation for couple or small family group. The Coach House is the newest stand-alone addition to the Forum Hostel - Mountmellick. Retaining feature walls and with the input of the acclaimed Paul Dunphy.

Church & Manse

Shared room accommodation. The Church Building, while renovated to a high standard, retains all its original Victorian features having not changed since’s its original construction in 1855.

The Square

Boutique Guesthouse. Private accommodation for large groups, family, couples or single.

Discover Mountmellick

The Mountmellick Heritage Trail is an opportunity to stroll through the town of Mountmellick and explore its historical and cultural depths. The trail takes the format of two circuits set in a figure of eight, which facilitates a looped walk encompassing the whole character of this intriguing town.
 
 
 
Mountmellick is located in the Irish Midlands and is the gateway to many places of interest in the region.
 
It's ideally located to the west of Dublin, with two nearby rail stations, Portlaoise and Portarlington station (7kM) to enable visitors visit the capital and surrounding countryside in one experience. There is also a bus service from Dublin to Portlaoise, which is a 10-minute taxi ride away.
 
Mountmellick is steeped in history and was one of the first settlements in the 1600’s by the first Quakers to arrive in Southern Ireland, namely William Edmundson.
